Lina Selander

Lina Selander (b. 1973) lives and works in Stockholm, Sweden. Selander’s films are negotiations concerning questions of power and history. The montage plays a big part in the sometimes fragmented visual layers. Absence is of importance in her work: silence where we expect sound, abrupt shifts in time and place in a narrative. Selander’s work often focus on moments in history where a system or physical place collapses and something new begins to emerge. Her works revolve around images as memories, imprints and representations.
