Tom Sandberg (b. 1953) is one of the foremost artists in Norway today with photography as medium. P.S.1 MoMA in New York presented earlier this year an extensive exhibition of works by Sandberg, and published the book “Tom Sandberg: Photographs 1989-2006.” This year, he has also shown new works in Nils Stærk Contemporary Art in Copenhagen, and in Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin, where he currently holds a stipend from Office of Contemporary Art Norway.
The exhibition in Galleri Riis is comprised of selected works from the past three years, mainly black and white silver-gelatin photographs in large and medium formats.
Sandberg lives and works in Oslo and Paris.
