Ombre Portée
March 27 – May 04, 2003

Hanson (born 1953 in Malmö, currently lives and works in Stockholm) belongs to the well-established Nordic artists of his generation, with 25 years of exhibition activity behind him. Since his first major exhibition at Moderna Museet in Stockholm in 1985, there have been subsequent manifestations of it at Rooseum in Malmö in 1995 and the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf in 1998. In 1988, Hanson was the Nordic representative at the Venice Biennale, and he received the Carnegie Art Award’s first prize in 1999.

This is Hanson’s fifth exhibition at Galleri Riis, and the series “Ombre Portée” (Silhouettes) are large paintings created in 2001-02. The works were first shown in January and February 2003 at Galleri Susanne Ottesen in Copenhagen.
